Training “Life skills” as an instrument of juvenile offenders’ re-socialization”

On 25 – 26th of February 2010 Institute of Law and Public Policy conducted a training “Life skills” as an instrument of juvenile offenders’ re-socialization”.

The event was aimed to train specialists, working with “youth at risk”, in methods of provision “Life skills” program” for young offenders. Achievement of ‘life skills’ becomes very important for juvenile offender in order not to commit further offences, because that are lack of communication skills, interest to get education and find a job, inability to organize leisure time, lack of skills to make a proper choice, etc. which often lead juvenile to law-offending behavior.

The main key groups of the training were juvenile social workers of StreetKids Centers, inspectors from local committees on juvenile affairs of Moscow districts, specialists of psychological rehabilitation centers working in frames of Moscow Cithy Department of education. Training was organized in frames of the Project “Development of local capacity in sphere of juvenile technologies in Moscow” supported by “The Russian Children in need Fund”.
